The Charm of the Eastern Silk - Shengze Fashion

On July 29, 2022, Shengze Fashion Week came to a perfect end in the Oriental Textile City of Shengze Town, Suzhou City. This three-days-long fair, managed to connect the five most attractive points of a fashion event "show, exhibition, competition, conference and business" from online to offline, from the perspectives of professional research, industrial docking and value transformation, thus becoming a 360degree representation of the Culture of Fashion of Shengzeby showing the core strengths of Shengze silk textile industry, by promoting Shengze high-end silk textile industry production, the fashion and branding development,and by also bringing a fashion and creative feast for global audiences and industry professionals, showing more fashion the charm and qualities of Shengze, the capital of silk.

Cherie Ding, BETWEEN RESEARCH Director and General Manager of Asia Pacific, was invited to attend the opening ceremony and visit the stands of several local leading enterprises to learn about them and to support the development of those same companies by bringing the international perspective and the experience of BETWEEN RESEARCH.

We met many excellent Chinese local enterprises here. Through the fashion show, we saw the rise of many local designer brands and their unique views on fashion, sustainable fashion and the latest textile fabrics. At the same time, we have also seen the profound heritage of the local Chinese brand with a thousand years of history, culture and inheritance. Its exquisite traditional craft and ingenious design perfectly combine Oriental ancient rhyme with modern fashion.

During the event, we also attended the 2nd China Design Summit and 2022 International Advanced Functional Fiber Fashion Sustainable Summit Forum, which was not just a platform to learn about what's new in sustainable fashion, but also to see the latest season of high-tech fabrics and eco-friendly recycled fabrics.

During the summit, we also met many designers and companies, pioneers of sustainability in the fashion industry, that expressed their interest in our BETWEEN CONSCIOUS PROGRAM sustainable fashion platform. We wish to contribute with our work to the growing attention that the topic of sustainable fashion is grabbing, awakening people's awareness on the topic, and spreading such awareness to more and more enterprises and professionals who work in the industry so that we can build together a more sustainable future for fashion!

After the summit, we were honoured to be invited to visit the headquarters of some local well-known enterprises and the 'Pavilion of Brands History and Culture'.

Coming from the historical Oriental Silk Capital of the East, Saint Joy has visited Europe several times and got a unique and profound relationship with Italy by often visiting Como-the Italian hometown of silk. When discussing the differences in silk post-processing techniques between China and Europe, there always is admiration and carries out further study and exchanges.

DADASHOW, the pioneer of China's fashion showroom industry from Shanghai, launched its exhibition in Shengze in conjunction with the "SHOWROOM 2022 Fashion Future" during Shengze Fashion Week. DADASHOW also brought the real concept of SHOWROOM to Shengze!
